We are thrilled to announce that Yale Jones is joining the Board of Directors at United4Change Center. Yale combines a distinguished background in law, a dedicated history of nonprofit/humanitarian leadership, and a lifelong commitment to service, making him an exemplary addition to our team focused on empowering and helping the world’s most vulnerable populations.

Yale received his undergraduate degree from Stanford and his Juris Doctor from UCLA, and was admitted to the California Bar in 1966. He served in the United States Peace Corps in Kenya for two years after his admission. In 1970, he began his private law practice in San Francisco. Yale held significant positions, such as the Chairman of the California Board of Legal Specialization and has been recognized as one the Best Lawyers in America. He retired in 2004 and moved to Taos, New Mexico, with his wife, Barbara “Shanti” Jones.

Over the years, Yale and Shanti have contributed to numerous charitable organizations, especially those focused on humanitarian causes. In 2017, Yale and Shanti established the Taos Community Foundation’s “First Generation Scholarship Fund,” providing annual scholarships to enable Taos County high school seniors to graduate debt-free from a four-year university in New Mexico.

Yale has supported U4C for several years, inspired by his close friend, Bob Reid, U4C’s longstanding advisor and mentor. Yale is eager to bring his extensive experience, insight, and sage counsel to advance U4C’s impactful work. He shared, “After supporting U4C for years, I am excited to directly contribute to the organization’s well-crafted initiatives that significantly empower people in Latin America, Africa, and domestically.”

Looking forward to collaborating with the board, staff, and affiliates at U4C, Yale is committed to enhancing our mission and extending our impact, as he notes, “I look forward to collaborating with the U4C board, staff, and team to further our mission and impact. It’s about creating positive change and fostering a culture of support and excellence that can really make a difference in people’s lives.”

We are eager and confident that Yale’s keen vision and extensive expertise will guide us as we continue to advance our initiatives and expand our reach. Please join us in warmly welcoming Yale Jones to our board. Together, we remain committed to making strides toward a world where every community can sustainably and equitably meet its own needs.
